North Wind's Blowing

I have now stood
Before a place,
A deep northern sea of your one-time joy,
Of your infathomable pain, and
My heart moves closer to your soul.
Experience of love,
What we all share,
Though no one will ever know
The depth of what it was,
What it has been.

In later years
We carry, we drag histories along
And long to make rights from wrongs
either done unto others
or received.
Looking forward,
We lean into the wind of the unknown,
Walking towards light
through the tunnels of our lives.

I have now been touched
by the world that is within you
by birth.

So often you have voiced objection,
The obtrusive obscurity of words.
perhaps
The conveyance of our true stories,
the essence of ourselves
Lies in the unbearable understanding of glances,
the enunciation of touches,
the connotation of kisses.
All given
without expectation of return
and with the grace of forgiveness.

Within them lies that book of scars,
and our redemption,
This, our todays.
