Poems

Illusion?

Moving between light and shadow
Where we have always been.
I long
for a refutation of sighs,
and the depth of your eyes

Speak

To me with unforked tongue
ironically
In the language of love.
A world in which I can trust.
Or experience unbearable betrayal;
The choice is yours.
I know I've never ever meant to harm you.

This I hope you know
while you stand in the dusk,
My back against the wall:
You stall the truth with indecision
so indirect it seems beguiling.

I feel overcome
The need to hold you,
The urge to scold you
for your disregard of general principles
known to all except you,
apparently

Contradictions abound.

There's a boat you've missed,
This you may some day rue.
Yet there is no way I can diss
All you mean to me.

I stand upon my shore of dreams
As you speed towards the straits
To a home far away from me,
Claiming allegiance to illusions
That have always been between us.

But you decide which is right.

God speed.
