Poems

From this Aerie

I did not want to stand
In the darkness of doubt.
The brightness of love's hope and promise
Have always lit my way.
But I've never known
Love unreturned...until now,
And so I burn with a passion
I can hardly put into words

Yet I strive to describe
The state of myself,
Trying to reach the beacon
of joy's potential within you.
But it all falls short.

So I have shaken off uncertainty
with
Kisses
Stares
Respect
and Care,
Passion,
Caresses sweet,
True concern,
Understanding
and Empathy

In a word,
Love,
The greatest cure.

To the unexpectedly
Romantic
Tones of a trumpet
I watched the intelligence of your hands
as they wrestled with each other at stage's edge.
When I took one I felt your comfort,
Felt the passion as you transferred
The spirit that moves you towards me.

Countless minutes later you lay sleeping
And my eyes adored you,
My heart embraced you
as you lay girlishly prone.
It was hard to keep my seat
in the court of Artur.
But it is his court, not mine.
Will this change with time?

You have said we are divided by tongues,
And I say
We are united in spirit,
The language of touch, sight and laughter
Cannot lose the day.
If I ever miss the wit
In some future chat with home friends
I will witness the warmth it gives you.
And you will be me, too.

We are not without our own special language, mu arm.
Contrary to things we've said,
The role of words is waning as we speak.
