Poems

Beyond

And I awake again, thankful.
Grey, cold days
no longer bring me shivers
But rather warm wisdom
Which enwraps me
For grey is now the color of a radiance,
Makes me golden,
Makes me man.

Emerging from the final thaw,
Devouring fleshy hills
Where naturally-scented magic
Adorns my longings
My soul desires to be one with,
and even away from you.

And this fate I have accepted
After long battles in my heart;
An ascension

Possession of a heart I have overcome.
Stepping forth from black clouds
I greet sun-lit lit peaks,
Looking down
on old selves
Who bellow jealously from below
I am reminded
of what I am not now;
True love there did not reside.

And in the crystal greyness
surrounding me now
I see happy unions once unimagined
Where she walks with me:
Love and loss,
Pain and joy,
Peace and conflict.

Life overflows
with contradictions we must embrace.
True freedom awaits
Beyond a selfish heart.
