Poems

Aura

A musk of love has left its residue
Everywhere

Tonight

My senses reek of your eyes,
Shining out
From the rumpled beauty of sheets,
Spent
with love's labors at dusk.

The sun also rises
on the majesty of love.
Naked redemption awaits if
we dare to endanger
The state of our hearts.

Do we have to be in love
to be in love?
Somehow the years say, "No".
Tender understanding speaks louder,
and with greater graciousness
than the words on this page.

As twilight dawdles on the coattails of ambitions
we once held indispensable,
Take me,
Caress my pain,
and I will kiss yours
for the sake of Venus.
