Reflections in Water

I reflect in water
And think on

A dance in a garden
For which I must not wait
An angel in my arms
A lovely summer evening
Under a lover's moon

And I see

Light refracting on a reality:
A brilliant, young girl
Gasps for air, longs to be freed
Of an unclear past.
My life, buoys her on the depths
Her hand, outstretched
Dissolves before my eyes

And then I hear

A laugh, true and comely
Like a child's soft and expectant whisper
In my ear: I love you
My heart kissed
By the emotion of syllables.

I reflect in water
and feel

Blues eyes watching my soul
But don't observe, experience my life
Do not bring me 'neath the glass;
With intention shall I never harm you.

Allow me a space
In which I can celebrate
Myself
Unearthing brings no fruit

I rreflected in water
And saw

Dusky shadows swimming towards me
Silent and lofty, full of fear
But I was brave
Before the unknown.
I gripped them tightly,
with deepest understanding
Of their tender significance
I accepted all,
the good and bad.

Oh, sweet blues, do you have the courage
to embrace the imperfect?

Limits scream
Out all our names
We must learn how much to take,
But let not flexibility break our hearts.

I reflect in the water
Shivers down my spine
The time has been spent well, writing,
In a hand that is my heart.

The day is won, love has had her victory
To carry her further on
Is what remains to be seen
I believe I've found the answer,
Lying in your manner,
In patience, being open,
And no unreasonable requests.

I reflect in water
And see
As if in a dream

A dance in a garden
For which I must not wait
An angel in my arms
A certain,lovely summer's eve
In love's swoon

I see reflections in the water.
